Neil Freer described two major childhood contacts, one when he was six years old and another when he was twelve. Looking back on these experiences as an adult, Freer interpreted both encounters as contacts with the Anunnaki.
AGE SIX: FREER’S MISSING-TIME ENCOUNTER
Neil said:
“I had two major contacts, at ages six and twelve.
“The first, at six years old, in hindsight—although I didn’t understand what was happening then because of my age and lack of experience and knowledge—was with the Anunnaki. They were picking me up to tweak me.
“The second was at twelve years old, when Anunnaki androids picked me up in the middle of the night. They wanted me to be very comfortable and happy with the situation, and they enlisted me.”
Freer said he was born and raised Catholic. In 1936, when he was six, his family was visiting relatives in a very rural area of New York State. On a beautiful June evening, the men gathered in rocking chairs along a long front porch after supper. Young Neil stood beside his father, listening to what he jokingly called the adults’ “man talk.”
Someone said, “Well, that looks like the mail plane going by.”
There was a light moving from left to right across the sky.
Then somebody said, “Well, there’s no sound to it. What’s happening?”
The adults dismissed it.
Freer continued:
“Then suddenly, I looked down the row, and all the men froze in spacetime—in mid-syllable. No sound and no movement.
“I was being told, obviously by the aliens, to go around the end of the porch into the dark, which I did, although it was extremely scary. There was something very large out there, and, in hindsight, it was obviously a ship.
“I found myself on board, where I inferred they had prepared me for a mission. But I couldn’t remember that part of the incident until I came back to the porch and everything started up again in mid-syllable.”
The adults then discovered that far more time had elapsed than they realized. Someone checked a pocket watch and discovered that it was approaching 10:30 or 10:45 at night.
Freer later interpreted the episode as a classic missing-time experience that had lasted for hours.
“THEY WERE PREPARING ME”
Freer believed the beings had “tweaked” him in preparation for something that would happen later.
He explained:
“I think whatever they did—genetically, mentally, psychologically, or whatever—I don’t know the details, really. But I think they were preparing me, in whatever way was appropriate, for the next major contact when I was twelve.”
AGE TWELVE: “WE’RE ANDROIDS”
Six years later, Freer’s family lived on the second floor of a house in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Neil told us:
“In the middle of the night someplace—I had no idea what time it was—I found myself awakened in a blue cloud field, being held high by these four short little gray fellows, aliens.
“They were holding me weightless above their heads. I was horizontal.
“They wanted me to have as much fun as they were having. They almost acted like apprentices, playing around.”
Then Freer noticed another being positioned near his head.
“I had to turn backward almost to see him—another gray, but taller and huskier, and obviously the sergeant of the detail.”
Freer asked what they were.
They replied:
“WE’RE ANDROIDS.”
Freer emphasized that this happened in 1942, years before he became familiar with the term.
He said:
“I did not know what the word ‘android’ meant.”
Freer later understood an android as a combination of humanlike and robotic characteristics. He said the closest conceptual reference he had as a child came from reading Flash Gordon comics.
“WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?”
Freer asked:
“What’s this really all about? What do you want from me?”
The being replied:
“WE ARE ASKING YOU TO HELP US GET INTO THE PLANET—INTO EARTH, INTO THE PLANET.”
Freer understood the beings to be asking him to help introduce them to Earth.
He recalled that they treated him respectfully, even though he was only twelve and a half years old. Because the encounter felt pleasant, fascinating, and novel to him, he agreed.
“Sure,” he said.
WHEN FREER CONSENTED, THE ETS DOWNLOADED INFORMATION INTO HIM
Freer said something remarkable happened as soon as he gave his consent.
“As soon as I said that and gave my consent, the sergeant pushed this huge ball of information up through some subcortical conduit into my brain.
“The ‘ball’ of information was larger than the entire volume of my skull, yet somehow my brain took it in.”
Freer described himself as an information junkie even as a young person.
“I thought, ‘Wow, that’s information—but I don’t understand any of it.’”
The being explained:
“You won’t understand it yet. I’ll tell you more when you are much, much older.”
Freer understood this to mean that he might begin to comprehend the information at approximately 70 years of age.
WHO WAS RUNNING THE ANDROIDS?
Freer asked the beings another important question:
“If you’re androids—obviously robots, androids—who’s your management?”
At that point, he said, a curtain opened.
Behind it stood a very tall, powerfully built male humanoid dressed in a white robe with a large, bushy, Semitic-looking beard.
Freer said:
“He was not a god. He was a humanoid, obviously alien.”
The being communicated that because Neil had agreed to help them, they would care for him and watch over him for the remainder of his life.
“ANAKAFI”—ANUNNAKI?
Afterward, Freer’s mother asked a practical question:
“Well, do they have a name?”
Freer remembered answering with something that sounded like:
“Anakafi,” or something similar.
Many years later, after conducting extensive research, Freer concluded that the word he had heard or perceived may have been:
ANUNNAKI.
Freer recalled that his parents were overwhelmed by what their son told them because they lacked a conceptual framework to understand such an experience.
THE BEINGS RETURNED—AND HIS FATHER SAW THE LIGHT
Several months later, during cold winter weather in Poughkeepsie, something happened that Freer believed helped reassure his parents that his earlier story had not simply been a child’s imagination.
Neil lay in bed while his mother and father drank coffee in the kitchen. Suddenly, the streetlights and surrounding neighborhood appeared overwhelmed by an extraordinary brightness.
Neil looked through the window and saw the night becoming intensely illuminated.
He ran into the kitchen.
His father also saw what was happening. He removed the old wooden storm window, and father and son looked upward together.
Freer said they could see a saucer-shaped object illuminating the sky.
“You could see portholes,” he recalled.
Neil told his father:
“That must be the little guys.”
He later told his parents:
“The little guys came back to reassure you that I’m not crazy.”
Freer’s parents nevertheless sought outside advice. They spoke with their priest, and Freer recalled that his father, who was then a police officer, privately consulted a psychologist associated with the police force.
WAS THE TALL BEING ENKI?
Janet pressed Freer on one of the most intriguing questions arising from his account:
“What were the vibes like from Enki? And what made you think it was Enki?”
Freer was careful not to claim certainty.
He never said that the being had introduced himself as Enki. Rather, Freer later inferred the possibility from the being’s appearance, characteristics, and what Freer subsequently learned through decades of study.
He explained:
“I’m guessing. The humanoid I encountered didn’t give a name. I didn’t ask a name. But because of his physical characteristics, and because of his knowledge base, I guess that he was an Anunnaki.”
FREER SAID THE CONTACT WAS TELEPATHIC
Freer explained that his contacts often did not involve ordinary spoken language.
He said:
“Sometimes, what I notice in my contact is they don’t use language. They just convey ideas that initially make little sense. But later, when more pieces of the information come in, I’d think, ‘Aha, that’s what they meant.’”
A NOTE ABOUT THE ROUND TABLE PRESENTATION

Neil Freer was an author, researcher, and lecturer best known for his work on the Anunnaki, human origins, and the implications of Zecharia Sitchin’s interpretations of ancient Mesopotamian texts.
Freer argued that humanity was entering a new stage of intellectual and spiritual maturity in which ancient gods could be reconsidered as advanced physical beings rather than supernatural deities, and he encouraged people to examine human origins through ancient records, archaeology, comparative mythology, and the possibility of extraterrestrial intervention.
He also spoke publicly about personal contact experiences that influenced his understanding of the Anunnaki and Enki, while his broader message emphasized the need for humanity to move beyond dependence upon gods and external authorities and begin to understand its own origins, history, and potential.
Gerald Clark (1963-June 4, 2020)
Gerald Clark was an author, researcher, and lecturer whose work focused on the Anunnaki, ancient Mesopotamia, human origins, hidden history, and the possible survival of ancient systems of control into the modern world.
He became widely known through books and public presentations on the Anunnaki of Nibiru, drawing connections among Sumerian traditions, ancient astronomy, mythology, genetic intervention, and the development of human civilization, while also working to make complex ancient history material accessible to a broad audience.
Clark’s participation in the 2014 Sacred Matrix roundtable placed his research in direct conversation with Neil Freer, Robert Evans, Janet Kira Lessin, and Sasha Alex Lessin and preserved an important snapshot of the wider Anunnaki research community during that period.
Robert Evans
Robert Evans is a researcher whose work during this period explored Nibiru, unusual solar imagery, astronomical anomalies, and the possibility that contemporary observations might connect with ancient accounts of the Anunnaki and their planetary system.
