CONTACT FROM THE BEGINNING ~ Janet Kira Lessin’s Lifelong Experiencer Story
By Janet Kira Lessin
with Sasha Alex Lessin, Ph.D.
My relationship with nonhuman intelligence did not begin when I discovered UFO literature, studied Zecharia Sitchin, attended conferences, interviewed contactees, or began writing about the Anunnaki, because as far back as I can remember, contact was already part of my life. I came into this incarnation aware of myself as an eternal being, carrying impressions and memories that seemed to reach beyond birth into the state between lives and into previous existences, while encounters with extraterrestrial, interdimensional, and other nonhuman intelligences continued from my earliest years.
Some of my memories reach back to the crib, yet even those experiences did not feel like beginnings. They carried a quality of recognition, as though the relationships, agreements, and purposes connected with this lifetime had already been established before I entered the body called Janet. I did not have language for any of that as a child, and because I grew up in a deeply Christian household, what I perceived and remembered often collided with a worldview that left little room for anything outside conventional religious categories.
My mother rarely acknowledged my experiences and was frightened by almost anything she could not place within the world she already understood, which made childhood complicated because I could perceive things that felt completely real to me while living with an adult who generally did not want to discuss them. Fortunately, my peers sometimes witnessed unusual events with me, and those shared experiences became enormously important because they confirmed my perceptions and taught me that I was not simply alone in what I was seeing, sensing, and remembering.
There was also an extraordinary contradiction in my mother’s relationship with the unseen. Although she was terrified of anomalous experiences and seldom acknowledged mine, I once caught her speaking in broad daylight with her deceased mother, who had manifested in visible form, and I could see both of them. Experiences like that taught me very early that people can encounter realities they are emotionally unprepared to integrate, and that a person’s reluctance to discuss such experiences does not necessarily mean nothing extraordinary has occurred. Years later, I interviewed my brother about our childhood experiences, and he also observed my mother’s conversation with her mother.
Over time, I came to understand that some of my own memories had been deliberately restricted or blocked because retaining everything consciously would have made childhood even more difficult and, in some situations, could have placed me at risk. Contact continued, but access to what happened could disappear afterward, leaving fragments, feelings, dreams, unexplained certainty, or the unmistakable sense that an important piece of my life had been temporarily sealed away.
As I grew older, the pattern became clearer. Contact could be followed by what I describe as mind wipes, while memories sometimes returned much later, after circumstances had changed and I could better understand and integrate what had happened. From the perspective of ordinary waking consciousness, that created gaps and confusion, yet from the perspective of the larger self, I increasingly sensed that nothing had actually been lost and that my mission continued regardless of how much Janet could consciously remember at any particular moment. Years later, interviews with experiencers revealed that mind wipes by both ETs and the military were common.
CONTACT, MEMORY, AND PROTECTION
I eventually came to view at least some of the memory suppression as protective rather than simply restrictive, because openly retaining everything I experienced might have exposed me to people, institutions, or beings that would not have treated a child experiencer with compassion or respect. Forgetting allowed me to function in ordinary life while another level of consciousness remained engaged with contact, communication, learning, and responsibilities whose significance would become clearer only much later.
That pattern continued into adulthood and became especially significant during my years connected with Johnston Atoll, where I worked from 1995 through 1997. My memories from that period include encounters with several kinds of beings, among them Greys, Tall Whites, Mantids, hybrid Grey-Mantis beings, Reptilian or Draco beings, Anunnaki, and Dragon-like intelligences, along with experiences in which I understood myself to be functioning as a translator or intermediary.
I rarely heard what I would describe as spoken language during these encounters. Communication usually arrived as downloads, concepts, images, emotions, intentions, and complete packets of understanding that could contain far more information than a spoken sentence could convey. The challenge came afterward, when I had to translate what I had received into words and concepts that another person could understand.
During my years on Johnston Atoll, that ability sometimes became part of my work as an intermediary. I would receive information telepathically or conceptually and then translate what I understood for humans, including military officers, which required me to take something that had arrived almost instantaneously as a multidimensional whole and reduce it into the slower, linear structure of human language. Much of the meaning could be carried in the original download at once—context, emotion, intention, imagery, and relationships among ideas—while spoken language forced me to unpack those layers one after another.
That distinction became important to my understanding of Contact because I gradually realized that what we call telepathy may be far richer than silent speech. I was not usually hearing sentences inside my head; I was receiving information and then doing the work of translating it into language.
That work, as I remember it, was accompanied by repeated memory suppression, which meant that much of what I had experienced was not available to ordinary awareness immediately afterward. The result was an unusual double existence: I could perform the tasks of daily life while another layer of my experience remained hidden until pieces began returning, sometimes years later and often in ways that suddenly illuminated events I had never fully understood.
THE HYBRID-MOTHER AGREEMENT
My contact history also became connected with what I understand as the hybrid program, and at the soul level I believe I agreed before this incarnation to participate as a hybrid mother within a larger reproductive and evolutionary process involving human and nonhuman lineages.
For me, that agreement cannot be separated from the broader questions of human origins, genetic intervention, contact across generations, and the possibility that humanity’s development has involved an ongoing relationship with intelligences beyond our present civilization. It also helps explain why reproductive themes recur so frequently in experiencer testimony and why some individuals report contact continuing throughout their lives rather than appearing as a handful of disconnected encounters.
The waking personality does not always remember agreements made at other levels of consciousness, which can create profound contradictions. The embodied person may experience fear, grief, confusion, anger, love, connection, longing, or loss while another level of the self understands a wider purpose that remains temporarily inaccessible, and learning to hold those different levels of experience without forcing them prematurely into a single explanation has been part of my own journey.
SIMULTANEOUS EXISTENCES AND THE GREATER TOTALITY
As more of my awareness returned, I also came to understand that Janet is not the totality of who I am, nor do I perceive Joy, Kira, Ninmah, and other expressions connected with my greater self as personalities sharing one body or as a simple succession of incarnations arranged one after another along a straight timeline.
I experience them as simultaneous existences, each with her own form, ideas, memories, relationships, experiences, point of view, and vibratory frequency, while some may not even exist within the same dimensional framework in which Janet presently lives. As far as I can determine, they belong to this universe, although I remain open to the possibility that even that understanding may eventually expand because all that is, was, and ever will be appears immeasurably vast.
I believe all of us have simultaneous lives, although most people maintain their waking awareness within a single primary focus and therefore experience themselves as one person moving through one lifetime. The larger consciousness, however, may sustain multiple centers of existence at once while allowing the local personality to remain concentrated on the reality directly in front of it.
My own experience is that awareness can shift. The closest popular analogy I have found comes from the film Being John Malkovich, although what I experience is not the same as entering another person’s body as an outsider. When I focus strongly enough upon another existence connected with my greater self, awareness moves until that life becomes front row and center, and while I am focused there, I do not experience myself as Janet looking at someone else from a distance; I experience myself as that being because the point of awareness has shifted.
That does not require anyone to enter Janet’s body, nor does it involve possession or two beings competing for one physical form. Each existence retains its own form and continuity while awareness shifts its focus, and I can also move into lives I perceive as past lives, although the word “past” becomes increasingly inadequate if consciousness does not experience time in the same linear manner as ordinary human awareness does.
What gives coherence to all of this is what I understand as the totality of consciousness, a greater field that contains and preserves the complete record of experience regardless of what the currently focused personality can retrieve. The local mind can forget, but the totality does not; as far as I have been able to perceive, it remembers everything.
NINMAH AND MY UNDERSTANDING OF AVATAR
This is essential to what I mean when I say that I am an avatar of Ninmah.
I am not saying that Ninmah periodically possesses Janet or that Janet is merely a costume worn by another being. I understand Janet and Ninmah as distinct simultaneous existences within a greater totality, each with her own form, memories, ideas, history, and vibratory frequency while remaining capable of communication, shared awareness, and coordinated purpose.
Joy, Kira, Ninmah, Janet, and other related existences can therefore remain fully themselves while participating in what I experience as a larger joint venture, and my connection with Ninmah is especially important because I understand her as one of the great Anunnaki mothers, physicians, scientists, geneticists, and protectors involved in the human story, while my own role as a hybrid mother creates a profound resonance with the reproductive and evolutionary themes associated with her.
For me, Ninmah is not merely a figure in ancient literature. The relationship is experiential, immediate, and ongoing, and much of that deeper story unfolds later in this series.
THE ANUNNAKI NEVER LEFT
That understanding also shapes how I think about the phrase “the return of the Anunnaki,” because from my perspective they never completely left Earth.
They have remained connected to humanity through physical presence, genetics, consciousness, incarnation, interdimensional contact, and forms of interaction that do not always fit the popular expectation that extraterrestrials must arrive dramatically in spacecraft before they can be considered present. Some may walk among us without being recognized for who they are, while others may operate from locations, states of consciousness, or dimensional frequencies that ordinary human perception does not consistently register.
What humanity may eventually call their return could therefore be something very different from an arrival. It may be recognition, the moment when enough of us become capable of perceiving and acknowledging what has remained connected with this world all along.
PREPARING HUMANITY FOR OPEN CONTACT
My mission, as I now understand it, has increasingly centered on helping humanity prepare for the stage when Contact becomes part of the shared reality of our species rather than remaining confined to experiencers, abductees, contactees, military personnel, researchers, mystics, insiders, and the relatively small number of people willing to explore phenomena that conventional culture has pushed to the margins.
That preparation requires much more than convincing people that extraterrestrial beings exist, because disclosure without psychological and spiritual maturity could simply reproduce the old human patterns of fear, domination, worship, tribalism, religious exclusivity, nationalism, and war. If we encounter civilizations far older than our own while still assuming that technological superiority automatically confers moral authority, we may repeat the ancient mistake of turning advanced beings into gods, while if we react only through fear, we may turn potential teachers, relatives, or neighbors into enemies before we understand who they are.
Open Contact therefore requires an evolution of consciousness alongside whatever technological or physical revelation may occur, because humanity must learn to approach other forms of intelligence without surrendering discernment, sovereignty, curiosity, compassion, or the ability to think for ourselves.
THE FEDERATION OF PLANETS OF LOVE AND LIGHT
Within the greater community I perceive is what I describe as the Federation of Planets of Love and Light, an association of civilizations that awaits humanity’s emergence into a more conscious, cooperative, peaceful, and responsible relationship with life beyond Earth.
I experience this wider community as part of humanity’s future rather than as a force waiting to take control of our world, because participation in a larger planetary or interplanetary civilization requires maturity, responsibility, and an ability to meet others without immediately falling into worship, submission, fear, or aggression.
From that perspective, Contact becomes an introduction into a larger family of consciousness, one in which humanity gradually recognizes that the universe contains far more life, intelligence, history, and relationship than we were taught to expect.
WHY I CONTINUE TO TELL THE STORY
My work as an experiencer, writer, interviewer, researcher, and witness has never been separate from my contact history because the experiences themselves created the questions that eventually shaped my life.
The childhood contact, the validation I sometimes received from peers, the extraordinary contradiction of a mother who feared the anomalous yet could converse with her own deceased mother manifested before us in daylight, the years of contact and memory suppression, the Johnston Atoll experiences, telepathic communication, my role as an intermediary, my agreement to participate as a hybrid mother, my simultaneous connection with Ninmah and other existences, and my growing understanding of a larger cosmic community all belong to one continuing attempt to understand who we are and what kind of universe we inhabit.
My task, as I see it, is to tell what I remember as accurately as I can, keep gathering the pieces, remain open to what later experience may reveal, and let the larger picture emerge through the accumulation of lived experience rather than forcing the mystery prematurely into a final conclusion.
Existence has repeatedly shown me that every horizon opens onto another, while what I know from my own life is that humanity has never felt alone to me, the Anunnaki have never seemed truly absent, consciousness has never appeared confined to a single body or lifetime, and the larger community of intelligent life feels far closer than the story we inherited would lead us to believe.
When open Contact finally enters collective awareness, I do not believe it will mark the beginning of humanity’s relationship with nonhuman intelligence; I believe it will mark the moment when humanity finally realizes how long that relationship has already been underway.
