The study of non-human intelligence (NHI) is like discovering an elephant in the dark. Every researcher, whistleblower, and experiencer contributes a unique fragment to an ever-expanding archive. Recently, Linda Moulton Howe appeared on UAMN TV to discuss the Gaia Deep Space series, exploring intelligence agency disclosures, synthetic bodies, and the startling theory that the Grays represent future humans.
I find immense value in reviewing the reviewers. We stand on the shoulders of those who risked ridicule to preserve stories that might otherwise have vanished. This series begins a rigorous taxonomy of the visitors, moving beyond generic labels to examine specific individuals and encounters. I start with the Grays—the species I have known longest. One person does not represent the whole of humanity; likewise, a handful of Grays do not represent their entire species. Taxonomy turns accurate only when we refuse to flatten the differences.
The Pre-Birth Pact
My contact history precedes my birth. I arrived on this Earth as a conscious soul—a volunteer inhabiting a human vessel for a defined purpose. I entered this timeline with relationships already established and a mission already scripted before I drew my first breath as Janet.
This waking awareness remained vibrant for my first eighteen months. Eventually, the density of this reality closed me down into a deeper layer of the “dream within the dream.” While the veil descended, the visitors remained. I lacked the language to describe the beings who passed through walls and appeared in rooms without using doors. I carried these experiences in the silent, heavy way children hold truths they cannot name.
Retrofitting Casper: The Search for Language
In 1959, when Casper the Friendly Ghost debuted on television, my five-year-old mind retrofitted the label. My mind reached for the closest available reference. The visitors existed in my awareness long before Casper, yet the word “ghost” provided the only category culture offered that seemed to fit. This was an absence of true language rather than a deception. I spent my early life seeking an adult who could validate the reality of these beings, yet I found only silence.
The Confession on the Floor: 1991
Decades passed before the silence broke. On my thirty-seventh birthday in 1991, my parents faced a dual medical crisis—a stroke for my father and a heart attack for my mother. My brother Billy, my sister Louise, and I gathered in our childhood home for the first time in years. Sitting on the carpeted floor amidst the discarded needles and EMT debris of emergency medical intervention, I broke the silence.
“Okay, it is time we get real,” I said. “What happened to you growing up in this house?”
We went round-robin. Both Billy and Louise admitted to seeing “ghosts” throughout their childhoods. Each of us had believed ourselves to be the solitary witness. While they used the paranormal vocabulary acceptable in 1991, I recognized the pattern. Neither Billy nor Louise mentioned extraterrestrials—in that era, ghosts were “real,” but ETs remained science fiction. The absence of conscious memory in my siblings is a testament to the strength of the veil, rather than an absence of experience.
The Fisk Avenue Sighting: A Family Legacy

Contact is a family thread. In 1964, my paternal grandmother, Ocean Catherine Overbeck Thompson, gathered her grandchildren to reveal a secret. Years prior, while living on Fisk Avenue, a UFO had hovered directly above her head, close enough that she felt she could almost touch it. She used the term “UFO” without hesitation.
Ocean stood only 4 feet 9 inches tall. Her sister, Susie, was born with profound dwarfism. This genetic signature—a physical “marker”—runs through our bloodline into my generation and the next. The visitors track specific families for reasons I have come to understand through decades of research. Ocean shared her truth just months before her death on July 4, 1964, handing her grandchildren a torch of awareness before she departed.
America Meets the Grays
The public image of the “Gray” is now a dominant cultural archetype. However, my contact in the crib in 1954 predates the public’s introduction to this species. While I lived the reality, the rest of the world caught up through media milestones:
- 1966: John G. Fuller’s The Interrupted Journey introduces the Betty and Barney Hill case.
- 1975: NBC airs The UFO Incident. Watching James Earl Jones and Estelle Parsons, I felt a shock of recognition. The screen showed what my body had known since infancy.
- 1987: Whitley Strieber’s Communion brings the iconic Gray face to public consciousness.
The Communion Night
I purchased Communion upon its release. One evening, I read Strieber’s description of visitors announcing themselves through electronic interference. I bookmarked the page and slept. At 3:00 AM, the television in our basement family room activated at full volume. My husband at the time, a non-believer, turned it off without question. I lay in the dark, knowing the visitors were “reading” along with me, confirming their presence through the very medium Strieber had described.
The Taxonomy of Contact
Moving beyond the “alien cartoon” allows us to build a true taxonomy of the visitors. In my interviews and hypnotherapy sessions with Sasha, I move witnesses from vague descriptions to visual specificity. We use a “cosmic police sketch” process to identify patterns without forcing everyone into a single category.
