🌀 “Level Zero: Why Humanity Remains Enslaved by Bigotry, Borders, and Barbarism”
A Wake-Up Call for the Future We Were Promised
By Janet Kira Lessin
We were supposed to be so much more by now.
Decades ago, we imagined it—a world beyond prejudice, a society that valued every being, regardless of color, gender, or planet of origin. Gene Roddenberry gave us the Federation. Spielberg showed us friendship with the unknown. Visionaries of every medium dreamed of unity, post-scarcity civilizations, peace through understanding.
So why, in the year 2025, are we still here?
Why are politicians in the U.S.—and elsewhere—allowed to spew racism, misogyny, and hatred against LGBTQ+ and intersex people without consequence?
Why are we still debating whether some humans deserve dignity?
Why does it feel like our species has regressed to the 1800s, wrapped in high-tech skinsuits?
Let’s call it what it is: barbarism wrapped in bureaucracy. A clever illusion of progress masks a machine of control that manipulates minds and crushes souls. And it’s all done in the name of patriotism, religion, or “protecting children”—as if cruelty were virtuous.
🧬 Who Decides Who Gets to Be Human?
Let’s talk about the bodies and beings most often erased from the conversation: transgender and intersex people.
Intersex people are real. They are born with natural variations in sex characteristics—chromosomes, hormones, genitals—that don’t fit into neat “male” or “female” categories. Depending on how intersex is defined, 1 in every 60 to 2,000 people may fall into this category. That’s millions of people in the U.S. and over a hundred million worldwide.
Yet their existence is rarely acknowledged in policy, and their rights are casually discarded.
Many intersex children are subjected to non-consensual surgeries to “normalize” their bodies—procedures that can cause lifelong harm. These actions are done, not for the child’s benefit, but to appease a binary-obsessed culture terrified of natural diversity.
And transgender people? Vilified. Legislated out of public spaces and banned from sports, health care, and even libraries.
This is not about policy.
It’s about power—who has it, and who gets erased.
🧠 Are We Choosing This? Or Is It Choosing Us?
So, we ask: Are people voting for this cruelty? Or are we under the influence of something more insidious?
Propaganda isn’t just on billboards anymore. It’s baked into our algorithms.
Social media platforms reward division. News feeds are curated by AI to maximize outrage. Every scroll is a psychological nudge, pushing us deeper into echo chambers until cruelty feels like logic and compassion feels like weakness.
This is mind control—not through microchips, but memes, not with guns, but with dopamine.
And many don’t even realize it’s happening.
📉 Why We’re Still Level Zero
On the Kardashev Scale—a method of measuring a civilization’s advancement based on energy usage—we haven’t even reached Level One. We can’t manage our planetary resources without ecological collapse. We wage wars for fossil fuels, let millions go hungry, and build walls instead of bridges.
Technologically, we’re crawling.
But morally?
We’re barely out of the mud.
🪐 A New Scale: The Consciousness Civilization Index
Let’s flip the script. What if we measured a civilization not by how much energy it harnesses, but by how much compassion it channels?
Here’s a new scale—one that speaks to the soul:
| Level | Civilization Type | Consciousness Traits |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Survivalist | Fear, tribalism, domination |
| 1 | Socially Aware | War is obsolete, resources shared, mutual upliftment |
| 2 | Cooperative Planetary | Lives in harmony with time, space, and Source |
| 3 | Galactic Ethical | Engages other species with respect and truth |
| 4 | Multiversal Awakened | Lives in harmony with time, space, Source |
Right now, Earth is somewhere between 0.2 and 0.4.
Still crawling. But dreaming.
And dreaming is where revolution begins.
✨ The Path Forward: From Level Zero to Light
So, how do we rise?
- Awareness: Learn how you’re being programmed. Study media literacy like it’s survival training—because it is.
- Empathy: Feel for those outside your experience. Listen to transgender voices, refugee stories, and intersex truths.
- Creation: Dream new systems. Build parallel structures. Vote, yes—but also create. Share food. Tell stories. Protect the vulnerable.
- Refusal: Refuse to participate in cruelty. Refuse to be silent. Refuse to pretend everything is okay.
🌈 We Were Born for This
We are starborn beings in borrowed flesh. We came here not to submit to these systems, but to transform them.
We are not powerless.
We are powerful beyond imagination—if we can remember who we are.
And we are not alone. Across timelines and galaxies, others are watching. Waiting. Hoping we’ll stop devouring each other and become what we were always meant to be:
A civilization that doesn’t just look advanced,
But it is truly.
