Inside JFK assassination conspiracies from ‘umbrella man’ to the CIA & ALIENS as theorists speculate about unseen files

The circumstances surrounding the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy have remained a mystery almost six decades later.
JFK was killed in Dallas, Texas, in November 1963, but his death was shrouded in suspicion.
The assassination sparked widespread speculation, prompting conspiracy theories to swirl ranging from the “famous umbrella man” to an alleged CIA cover-up.
Files were released by the National Archives in 2017, 2018 and 2021 in an attempt to solve the mystery.
President Biden is set to order once-classified details from a trove of around 8,000 papers to be disclosed today, Politico reported.
It’s not yet known what will be contained inside the papers, but officials believe “there will be no obvious bombshells,” according to the outlet.

But, the secrecy around US government documents and the existence of top-secret files linked to the killing has fueled theories that a cover-up took place.
The U.S. Sun has explored the theories that have circulated in the decades after JFK’s death.
COVER-UP
President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas as he traveled in a motorcade through Dealey Plaza.
Shortly after, gunman Lee Harvey Oswald, a 24-year-old self-proclaimed Marxist, was arrested in a nearby cinema.
He denied shooting anybody, later claiming to reporters that he was a “patsy.”
He was accused of shooting the President dead with a $21 mail-order rifle from a window of the sixth floor of a nearby school textbook warehouse.
Two days after the assassination and his arrest, Oswald was being escorted from Dallas Police Headquarters to county prison.
As he was taken out in front of the world’s media, a man called Jack Ruby stepped forward and shot him dead.
Ruby was later found guilty of murder and sentenced to death. He appealed but died of an illness in jail before his new trial could take place.
The official Warren Commission report in 1964 found that Oswald had been the lone gunman, and another congressional probe in 1979 found no evidence to support the theory that the CIA had been involved.
But some say this was a cover-up.
UMBRELLA MAN
Conspiracy theorists have pointed to a mysterious man holding an umbrella and wearing a rain coast as JFK’s motorcade drives down Dealey Plaza.
But it was a dry and warm day in Dallas and “Umbrella Man” was standing close to where Kennedy was shot.
Umbrella Man is described by The Washington Post as the most famous conspiracy theory involving “multiple gunmen centers.”
One speculation is that the Umbrella Man “shot a poison dart into Kennedy’s neck, immobilizing him to allow for Oswald or others to deliver a kill-shot.”
And Oliver Stone’s 1991 film “JFK” showed the Umbrella Man sending signals to his assassin buddies.
The man under the umbrella was eventually revealed to be Louie Steven Witt.
Witt claimed he held the umbrella to protest Joseph P. Kennedy’s appeasement policies.
He also said the umbrella was related to British PM Neville Chamberlain’s umbrella and the conciliation of Hitler and the Nazis.
GRASSY KNOLL
Some people believe the theory about a second gunman who participated in the shooting from the grassy knoll of Dealey Plaza.
The grassy knoll is a small hill inside Dealey Plaza.
Back in 2018, a research study published in the journal Heliyon found that JFK was not shot from the grassy knoll, based on analysis of video footage.
According to the study: “The findings do not entirely rule out a conspiracy, but they do refute the most prominent theories that the fatal shot was fired from the grassy knoll.
“They also oppose the idea that the Zapruder film proves a conspiracy – in fact, the opposite appears to be true.”
Dr Nicholas Nalli, senior research scientist at IMSG, Inc. and study author, said: “I found that the Zapruder film shows President Kennedy being shot from behind and not from the infamous grassy knoll, in corroboration of the official autopsy findings – that’s the only ‘smoking gun’ in the film.
“The historical fact of the matter is that the US federal government investigations were comprised of upstanding civil servants of high ethical standards who, in spite of difficult circumstances, by-and-large got the basics of the case correct.”
COVERT OPERATION BY LYNDON JOHNSON
Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, who was sworn in as President after Kennedy’s death, has also been accused of being involved in the assassination by conspiracy theorists.
Some have suggested he wanted to cover up scandals or take control of the country in a coup.
According to CNN, conspiracy researcher Dave Perry slammed this theory as being “based primarily on statements made by Madeleine Brown.”
Brown claimed she had an affair with Johnson and that he attended a party with ex-Vice President Richard Nixon and FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover one day before the assassination.
Perry explained that Brown was told by LBJ: “After tomorrow, those Kennedys will never embarrass me again. That’s no threat. That’s a promise.”
But Perry insists: “That’s absolutely not true.”
“We’ve found no evidence, and we know that all the stuff that Madeleine Brown said was contrived,” he said.
CIA PLOT
Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone was the writer behind the 1991 movie JFK: The Story That Won’t Go Away.
It explored the circumstances leading up to the shooting and what transpired afterward.
Stone insisted the idea that the CIA — America’s Central Intelligence Agency — has hidden the truth is no longer a conspiracy theory, but a “conspiracy fact.”
He has interviewed historians, forensics experts and people intimately involved with the case to make a documentary, JFK Revisited.
Some of the evidence came about as a result of his 1991 film, which was nominated for eight Oscars and won two.
The furor it sparked was enough to convince the US authorities to gradually release documents about the assassination which were supposed to remain classified until 2029.
It is a mystery that has gripped him from the moment the news shook the planet.
Stone, who was 17 at the time, says: “When you murder a US president in broad daylight in front of the whole world, people sensed right away there were larger forces than one man at work.”
Meanwhile, Dave Perry told CNN that he has yet to debunk the theory claiming the CIA was “involved.”
Perry said: “Supposedly Kennedy was fed up with the shenanigans that the CIA was pulling.
“He found out the CIA was trying to kill [Cuban leader Fidel] Castro, which is a fact.
“So the argument is that the CIA felt that Kennedy was going to disband them. And as a result of that, they were the ones that ordered the killing of Kennedy.”
ALIENS
Some conspiracy theorists peddled baseless claims, bizarrely alleging that a secret alien base may have played a role in the assassination.
According to Spyscape, former US radio personality Milton William Cooper shared the news about an alien base he claimed was on the moon dubbed Project Luna.
Cooper pushed the conspiracy theory about JFK getting assassinated by an alleged “gas pressure device.”

A new documentary purports to show President John Kennedy’s “former pilot” saying that the former president had hinted to him that he was aware of the evidence that alien UFOs were visiting Earth.
President Kennedy’s alleged former pilot made the disclosure in the documentary Unacknowledged, which claims to expose decades of U.S. government cover-up of vital evidence that the Earth is being visited by aliens in UFOs. According to the documentary, JFK saw the alien UFO that crashed at Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. He allegedly saw the debris during a visit to a top-secret United States Air Force (USAF) base.
The new film, directed by Michael Mazzola, features Dr. Steven Greer, a UFO investigator, conspiracy theorist, and disclosure advocate, presenting alleged evidence of alien UFO visitations to Earth and government conspiracy to hide the evidence from citizens, according to the Inquisitr. The documentary also features an alleged former pilot for JFK making the claim that the former president once told him that the government has evidence of UFOs and ET phenomena. The former president allegedly saw physical evidence of intelligent extraterrestrial life when he visited a secret USAF base where the U.S. government was secretly storing the debris from a UFO spacecraft that allegedly crashed in July of 1947, at a spot near Roswell, New Mexico.
The unidentified man said he once had a conversation with JFK about a newspaper article that discussed UFO phenomena. He said JFK asked for his opinion about extraterrestrials (ETs) and UFOs, but when he threw the unexpected question back to the president, he responded, “I asked you first.”
He told JFK that he did not think that humans were the only intelligent life in the universe. The president, according to the “former pilot,” then admitted that he was aware of evidence of aliens and UFOs.
“You’re right young man,” the man claimed JFK said, “there is considerable knowledge as far as the being of UFOs and the ET phenomenon that we are aware of today.”
According to Greer, CIA documents reveal that JFK visited a secret USAF airbase where he saw the remains of the alien UFO spacecraft that allegedly crashed at Roswell, New Mexico, in July of 1947. He purportedly shared the highly classified information with the actress Marilyn Monroe who later threatened to reveal it to the world. Monroe allegedly made the threat because she was upset after JFK and his brother, Robert, ended their relationship with her.
According Greer, information obtained from a secret CIA memo created two days before Monroe was found dead, supposedly from a drug overdose, in her Brentwood, Los Angeles home, on August 5, 1962, showed that the CIA was aware of the alleged affair between Monroe and JFK and had been secretly monitoring Monroe’s phone calls due to fears that she could leak classified information she obtained accidentally from Kennedy.
The CIA allegedly learned while monitoring Monroe that Kennedy had told her that he visited a “secret air base” where he saw the physical evidence of aliens and UFOs. The agency murdered Monroe to stop her from disclosing highly classified UFO and ET evidence she obtained from Kennedy, according to the documentary Unacknowledged.
“We have a number of smoking gun documents, including a wiretap of Marilyn Monroe on the day before she died, which has never been declassified,” Greer said. “She was threatening to hold a press conference to tell the world what Jack Kennedy had told her during pillow talk about having seen debris from an extraterrestrial vehicle at what the document calls a ‘secret air base.’”
The “secret air base” that the alleged secret documents mentioned is believed to be the USAF Area 51 facility in Nevada. UFO conspiracy theorists believe that the U.S. government maintains secret storage facilities where remains of extraterrestrial vehicles recovered from the Roswell crash site and other alleged UFO crash sites, are being kept. UFO researchers believe that government scientists and engineers have been working for several decades to reverse-engineer alien propulsion technology stored at Area 51. UFO researchers also claim that the design of modern stealth aircraft was inspired by extraterrestrial vehicles stored in secret hangars at Area 51.
UFO conspiracy theorists claim that JFK was assassinated on November 22, 1963, because he ordered the CIA to release highly classified UFO files to NASA. The CIA arranged to have Kennedy assassinated before the files could be released.
But a CIA spokesperson, Jonathan Liu, reportedly denied the claim that the CIA murdered Marilyn Monroe to prevent leakage of highly classified UFO and ET information.
“Such claims are baseless and do not merit serious consideration,” Liu said, according to the Express.

In the second memo, sent to the NASA administrator, the president expresses a desire for cooperation with the former Soviet Union on mutual outer space activities.
The previously classified documents were released under the Freedom of Information Act to teacher William Lester as part of research for a new book about JFK.
He said that JFK’s interest in UFOs could have been fuelled by concerns about relations with the former Soviet Union.

‘One of his concerns was that a lot of these UFOs were being seen over the Soviet Union and he was very concerned that the Soviets might misinterpret these UFOs as U.S. aggression, believing that it was some of our technology,’ Mr Lester told AOL News.
‘I think this is one of the reasons why he wanted to get his hands on this information and get it away from the jurisdiction of NASA so he could say to the Soviets, “Look, that’s not us, we’re not doing it, we’re not being provocative. “.’
But conspiracy theorists said the documents add interest to a disputed file, nicknamed the ‘burned memo’, which a UFO investigator claims he received in the 1990s.
The document, which has scorch marks, is claimed to have been posted to UFO hunter Timothy Cooper in 1999 by an unknown CIA leak, but has never been verified.

In a note sent with the document, the apparent leaker said he worked for CIA between 1960 and 1974 and pulled the memo from a fire when the agency was burning some of its most sensitive files.
The undated memo contains a reference to ‘Lancer’, which was JFK’s Secret Service code name.
On the first page, the director of Central Intelligence wrote: ‘As you must know, Lancer has made some inquiries regarding our activities, which we cannot allow.
‘Please submit your views no later than October. Your action to this matter is critical to the continuance of the group.’
The current owner of the ‘burned memo’, who bought it from Timothy Cooper in 2001 told AOL News that it shows that when JFK asked questions about UFOs that the CIA ‘bumped him off’.
UFO investigator Robert Wood said he has tested the paper it was printed on, the ink age, watermarks, font types and other markings.
He said: ‘I hired a forensics company to check the age of the ink and check several other things that you can date, using the same techniques you’d use in a court of law.’

The release of more than 3,000 documents today, dubbed the JFK files, aims to silence disbelievers and sort historical fact from fiction.
But a spectacular claim about the true nature of what happened in Texas more than 50 years ago could shake the US to its core.
A YouTube video uploaded under the title “JFK Assassination Evidence in Malta (The Nibiru Connection)” alleges that the US President was in fact killed by extraterrestrials.
The bizarre video kicks off at a JFK memorial in San Pawl, Malta, supposedly built and co-funded by American citizens living in Malta and the Maltese government in 1964.

In the video, a man says: “Jesus Christ said I am the truth, the way and the light.
“Who killed John F Kennedy? The answer lies here at this monument in San Pawl, in Malta.
“As you can see there is a very interesting circular structure behind me – what appears to be a flying saucer landing pad. What else would such a structure be good for?”
The video points out how the monument appears to be “blackened” from the inside, hinting that it has been scorched by alien spacecraft.

John F Kennedy was assassinated by lone gunman Lee Harvey Oswald on Friday, November 22 at roughly 12.30pm local time in Dallas, Texas.
The US President was riding in a presidential motorcade with his wife Jacqueline Kennedy, when the former Marine and Soviet defector fired his bolt-action rifle from a nearby grassy hill.
It is unclear what motivated Oswald to pull the trigger, but it was found that the self-proclaimed Marxist, paid visits to the Cuban and Soviet embassies in New Mexico two months before the assassination.
